Following the on-site workshop on the conservation of Mogao Cave 465 from 8th – 21st September 2012 and the second workshop from 6th – 23rd June 2013, a 3rd workshop for further investigations of the wall paintings in Cave 465 was organized for 8th – 19th September 2014 by the Dunhuang Academy (DHA) and the Isabel & Balz Baechi Foundation (IBBF).
The results of the workshop in 2014 continue the work of the previous years to identify further areas for investigations of the wall paintings condition and define approaches for future comprehensive investigations. The aim of the project is to understand the complex deterioration processes of the cave and develop a comprehensive conservation plan suitable for the special conditions of Cave 465.
